Master Barber and founder of the Derry Barber Company David Craig today shaved local actor and radio presenter Bill Waters in aid of Foyle Search and Rescue and Children in the Cross Fire. Mr Waters – who has grown his hair for the past year, has raised a significant sum to de-fuzz and smarten up for the new-year.
Once seated in the traditional male barber chair – Master Barber David Craig carefully removed Bill’s unkept hair using his cut throat razor and the transformation began. With a flurry of soap suds, hot towels and scissor snips Bill’s masculine charity transformation was complete.
“I am delighted that Bill has chosen the Derry Barber Company to support him in raising money for these very worthy charities” said David “Our job is to smarten men up – to create a sharp and groomed look. Today we have embraced this hairy, charity challenge and have left Bill ready to take on the world.”
Indeed, the men of Derry have embraced the concept of traditional men’s grooming since Derry’s premier men’s Barbershop has opened. David, who had just flown in from London that morning came with tales of James Bond style haircuts and shaves in London and how Derry can now offer the same level of service with more local banter. “The traditional concept that we have developed has been fully embraced by the men of Derry” he said.
“All major cities in the world have traditional gentlemen’s barbershops like this – a high quality setting where men can take time out to avail of the skill and craftmenship of highly trained barbers. The soap suds, cut throat razor and bay rum are making a much needed revival. The Derry Barber Company is delighted to champion it here today for charity.”
